Introducing Scalp Micropigmentation

Posted in United Arab Emirates forum

BMC Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) known also as medical hairline tattoo is an ultimate non-surgical solution for hair loss problems. Even though there are available other very efficient methods, like BMC hair transplantation, not everyone is a suitable candidate for it. For example, men who don't have enough donor hair and people who are suffering from hormonal problems (especially women) are not viable candidates for hair transplantation. Also, for some people hair transplantation is too expensive, so they rely on BMC Scalp Micropigmentation as a more affordable solution with instant results.

What is SMP?
BMC Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is a highly advanced method of cosmetic pigmentation. While similar to traditional tattooing, SMP is unique in a variety of ways. Unlike classic tattoos, no permanent ink is used during SMP treatments. BMC pigments are hypoallergenic (no allergic reactions) and eventually dissolve and fade without any side effects. Yearly touch ups are required to maintain the effect.

How Does The Procedure Look Like?
SMP treatments are usually split over three separate sessions, although the actual time can depend on the extent of your hair loss, the style you require, and other factors. After initial consultation where your doctor creates a plan of action, mapping the area that will be treated, the procedure can begin. This initial session is to lay the foundation of your new look. After the first treatment, your scalp will be a little red, but within a single day this typically returns to normal. The second treatment allows us to fill in more details and go a shade darker than your initial session. Third treatments are typically done upon the patient's request, if they would like to achieve a darker result. When it comes to the duration of a treatment, a typical first session lasts from three to five hours, while additional sessions usually take less time as the correct blend of density and darkness is achieved on the scalp.
Various Options Available
When it comes to micropigmentation, there are a variety of options available. It can be used to fill out the bold area like crown balding, or just for adding density to your receding hairline. Also, it's a great solution for patients who want to cover scars from hair transplantation, or just want to improve the result of the hair transplantation. SMP is also used to cover signs of scalp diseases like lupus, alopecia or similar. This method is popular with the ladies who want to cover thinning hairline or just to add some density to it. The results are better with darker hair so it's not usually recommended for blonde patients.

About The Recovery
The procedure is non invasive and is almost painless. Most patients experience mild discomfort during the BMC scalp micropigmentation – especially in its earlier stages – the discomfort typically becomes more tolerable as the session progresses. To compare, SMP hurts less than having a regular tattoo and much less than a hair transplant.
There is no serious recovery period following a Scalp Micropigmentation treatment at Bizrah Medical Center, although slight redness on the skin may last between 24-48 hours. Many patients return to work the next day and the basic time table between treatments is seven days.
