Hello all,
I am a musician and performer who was recently asked to perform at a benefit event for an LGBTQ organization. I am an American citizen living in Berlin, Germany. Travel arrangements will be paid for but I will not be making any money from this performance. Do I still need to be in possession of a work permit and if so which one exactly?

Yes, you need a work permit to perform at Benefit Event. you are an american citizen living in Germany. So to visit for an event, you need a country specific work permit that allow you to perform there.
