Is Florida a good place for retired persons?

Posted in Florida forum

With my husband, we are planning to move to a sunny place for our retirement. Is Florida a nice place for living? What cities are the best? We would like to move near the sea, in a city not too big. Any ideas?
Do you think than it's better than moving in Mexico or Costa Rica?

Here are my thoughts when it comes to places to live. There is no other country in the world that can offer what the USA has to offer. By moving outside of the USA you put yourself at the mercy of other governments and sometimes their radical laws which can include the taking of your property by force. At least here in America your rights are respected and you don't have to worry about that. There are many beautiful communities in Florida that would make a great place to retire to. I would recommend that you look in Central Florida near the west coast like Crystal River or Homossosa Springs. Both are waterfront communities that offer a wide varity of price ranges. What I would do is take a car drive down to Florida and look around. There is a community for everyone here depending on what your looking for.

    Good luck,

    Ben
