4 Day Wildlife Filmmaking Workshop - Mustangs, with Nat Geo's Jake Willers

Join National Geographic Channel's Jake Willers for a 4 day workshop in Washoe Valley, Nevada. We'll spend time on location at Washoe lake, just east of the Sierra Nevada, filming mustangs as they come down from the surrounding hills to drink and play in the water. The lake is also home to many types of water fowl, which make for great filming, and even the occasional bald eagle. 
As well as getting an unforgettable up-close and personal experience with a band of mustangs you'll learn pre-production like how to find a story, building that story out and then filming the footage necessary to tell that story. We’ll look at interview techniques and how to get the most out of interviews in the field and then we’ll edit to create your final film.
This workshop is about learning valuable skills and techniques that are essential to natural history filmmaking. Like how to behave around wildlife to get the best shots and how to preempt animal behavior so you don't miss the money shot when it happens. We'll also look at how to adapt to situations when things don't go so smoothly so you still get what you need to tell your story. 
What you’ll come away with is a good understanding on how to find a great story, develop that story, shoot footage to tell that story, and techniques in editing which make all the difference when it comes to producing a professional natural history film.
