Members of the Anchorage Classical Guitar Society will perform a variety of solo classical guitar music, guitar duets, and quartets. The repertoire will span from Bach to Bizet's Carmen.

On Sunday, September 15, at 4:30 p.m., the Anchorage Classical Guitar Society will hold a fundraiser concert at Anchorage Lutheran Church, 1420 N St, Anchorage. The concert will feature classical guitar music from the Baroque to Modern eras, with music by J.S. Bach, Fernando Sor, Julian Arcas, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Francisco Tarrega, and Georges Bizet. The performers are Dr. Armin Abdihodzic, Mischa Shimek, Otto Nelson, Jong Han, Ryan Nitz, Alex Salov, and Thomas Tallant. Admission is free; donations are accepted. A reception follows the concert.
The Anchorage Classical Guitar Society was established in 2019, and it exists to promote the serious study of the classical guitar, to encourage members to take part in enjoying the instrument and its music, and to involve students, amateurs, and professionals in the community.
The president of the society is Dr. Armin Abdihodzic, professor of guitar at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Dr. Abdihodzic received his music degrees at East Carolina University (Masters) and the University of North Texas (Doctorate). He has performed concerts throughout South America, Europe, and the United States. He is also an instructor for the annual Summer Guitar School in Karlovac, Croatia
