The Coho Festival is 100% volunteer organized with all proceeds going to the Coho Society of the North Shore. The day starts with “one of the most picturesque” 14km run from Kitsilano to Ambleside. At 9am a Coho Swim takes place right from the beach. The rest of the Coho Festival starts at 11am with the Blessing of the Salmon First Nations ceremony. Enjoy the famous Save On Foods salmon BBQ, in the beverage garden. Come learn about conservation in the Stewardship Zone, take in an environmental issue Tent Talk, and visit the First Nations Village where kids can make a salmon necklace. The Seaspan Kids Park will entertain with music, magic, tugboat dances, climbing wall, bouncy rides and more! All day live entertainment will be on the main stage featuring one of Vancouver's favourite bands - DOUG AND THE SLUGS - at end of the day. There may be a visit from the Canadian Coast Guard Hovercraft too! This is zero waste and environmentally friendly event. Please take transit or bike to site and take away what you pack in.
