At this tasting we will compare the unique wine styles of two of France’s famous winemaking valleys as well as explore the sunny South of France and taste a range of at least 6 red, white & Rosé wines

Part 1 - The Loire Valley

In the wettest part of France, the North West, they call it 'The Garden of France' as it is beautifully green and lush. Here lies the Loire Valley, a grape growing area famous as the home of Sauvignon Blanc. We'll take a look at Sancerre and talk about why so many people love this classic French grape. Then we will head to Tours for the birthplace of the versatile Chenin Blanc in Vouvray. On the estuary of the Loire lies Nantes famous for the classic Muscadet, a great match for seafood.

Part 2 - The Rhône Valley

The classic wine region of the Rhone Valley is home to the seductive Syrah grape. The styles of wines are rather different between the Northern and Southern Rhone, which you will discover through tasting wines such as Crozes Hermitage and classic Côtes du Rhône.

Part 3 - The South of France

The South of France has a wonderful Mediterranean climate which is not just fantastic for holidaying in, but also great for growing ripe grapes loaded with flavour. We will explore some regions renowned for their quality, but it is the wide range and affordability of wines from the South, that we’re sure will surprise and delight you!
