Hideaway Jazz Club

2 Empire Mews, Stanthorpe Rd, London, SW16 2BF, United Kingdom  Map

A celebration of the music and life of His Purple Highness - with a back catalogue more rich and varied than perhaps any other recording artist, Prince is one of the most influential artists of his generation. David McAlmont and Miss Baby Sol star on vocals with MD Janette Mason as Hideaway parties "like it's 1999!"

David McAlmont

Possibly one of the greatest singers this country has ever produced, David McAlmont has collaborated with everyone from Bond composer David Arnold to Michael Nyman, Paul Weller and most famously with Bernard Butler producing the classic hit single Yes. David's music is pure emotion, drawing unique, soulful portraits from his own life and philosophies, all beautifully framed by the finest soul and now he's interpreting the music of Prince in an evocative show you'll love!

Miss Baby Sol

Miss Baby Sol is a British sultry-soul artist born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition to her solo projects, Baby has collaborated and worked with a number of people in her capacity as a singer/songwriter, including Florence and the Machine and Paloma Faith. These include her chart-topping collaboration as co-writer and vocalist, with UK dance producer Redlight, as well as the 2014 campaign single for 'No More Page 3', 'Now's the Time'. Her music is influenced by artists such as Nina Simone, Eartha Kit, Grace Jones, Billie Holliday and Sarah Vaughan. Paloma Faith rates her very highly and she does not disappoint with her gorgeous vocals.
Janette Mason - Musical Director and Keys

If there's an explosion of curly red hair buzzing around at the business end of our beautiful Yamaha grand piano, and a room bursting with musically induced grins, then you can be sure it's Janette Mason at the ivories.
