Greensboro Youth Chorus Spring 2024: Open Rehearsal 1/9, 1/16, 1/23 - Bring a Friend!

The Greensboro Youth Chorus is pleased to announce that registration for Spring 2024 is open through January 23. Aspiring young singers, grades K-12, are invited to sing in one of three ensembles: Music Explorers for grades K-2, Apprentice Choir for grades 3-5, or Concert Choir for grades 6 and up. Rehearsals begin January 9 and continue every Tuesday through May.

Rehearsals on January 9, 16, and 23 are being dubbed "Bring-a-Friend Rehearsals." Current members are encouraged to invite someone new to give singing a try. However, you don't have to know someone who currently sings with Greensboro Youth Chorus to drop in. Any youth singer from the community is invited to attend one or more open rehearsals and learn what singing with GYC is all about. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings in the Greensboro Cultural Center in downtown Greensboro. Music Explorers rehearse from 4:15-5pm, Apprentice Choir from 5:15-6:15pm, and Concert Choir from 5:30-6:45pm.

There will be many exciting performance opportunities for the choirs this spring. Members of the Concert Choir will travel to Greenville, NC in March to sing in the Piedmont Invitational Children's Chorus Festival. The Concert Choir will also sing with Bel Canto Company, The Choral Arts Collective's ensemble of professional singers, in May. All three choirs will be invited to sing the national anthem at a Greensboro Swarm game this spring. The season will conclude in May when all three choirs will present their year-end concert, "Sing, Live, Be!" at the Van Dyke Performance Space in the Greensboro Cultural Center.

Now in its 36th season, the Greensboro Youth Chorus has long been committed to providing a space for children to develop their musical talents while fostering essential life skills, including teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence.
