Dances of India 45th Annual Performance: River Goddess, Tales of the Sacred River Ganges Nov 11-13
Dances of India and Afriky Lolo! Dances of India, headed by 2020 RAC Artist Fellow Asha Prem, is in its 45th season and one of the oldest classical Indian dance companies in the US. For its 45th Annual Performance, the company presents Bharata Natyam (a style of classical Indian dance) and an original, narrated production by local writer Nartana Premachandra, River Goddess: Myths of the Sacred River Ganges, on Nov 11-13. Local West African dance company Afriky Lolo headed by 2015 STL RAC Artist Fellow Diadie Bathily, is a guest performer. French Prof of Contemporary Dance at Kansas U, Patrick Suzeau, will perform a mix of contemporary/classical Indian. Note: Nov. 11 and 12 are @ 7 p.m and are the same shows. Guest Artists will not perform 11/13. 11/13 is in the afternoon @ 3 p.m. and a Family Matinee. Performances are about 2 1/2 hours long including intermission.
