I would to talk about the Turquoise Card and its detail.
I presume most of you heard about the Turquoise Card, which was by the way introduced in the Law about Immigration last Summer in 2016, but maybe most of you didn't read or heard about the publishment of the regulation concerning this Turquoise Card the 13th of March 2017. So i would like to summarize briefly the Turquoise Card and its advantages as well as its requirement.
The Turquoise Card what is it ?
It is a new kind of "permit" which allow foreign citizen to work without any limitation in Turkey for a period of 3 years. At the end of this period the owners of the Tuwuoise Card will be allowed to apply for the Citizenship. I should also mention that the Turquoise Card give its holder all the reight of a Turkish Citizen execpt for the right to vote and the mandatory military service for the men. And last but not least, the spouse and children under 18 years old will be allowed to live in Turkey without the requirement of any residency permit or so. And will be valid until the expiration or cancellation of the Turquoise Card.
The Turquoise Card for who is it ?
We can categorize the different type of application under 5 types :
- Qualified Worker
- Qualified Investor
- Qualified Artist and Sportmen
- Qualified Instructor
- Representant/Promotor of Turkey Abroad
Every application will be guide under certain criteria and different point system according to the type of application.
By the way, the Turquoise Card will be delivered according to a point system which will be published, hopefully soon, by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The Turquoise Card what is the process ?
The process of the Turquoise Card is pretty simple, once the dossier for your application is ready you make an application at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Then the Ministry determine if your application is valid or not and Grant you the Turquoise Card. Once you receive the Turquoise Card you will have to make a yearly report showing your work or contribution to the Turkish economy.
The Turquoise Card authorized institution
Also a new feature introduce with this law is the authorised institution. The application for the Turquoise Card can only be made personnaly or throught an authorised institution. A huge weight will mostly be put on these institution because these institutions will be allowed to prepare a dossier for the applicant and also will have the right to prepare the yearly reports asked by the Ministry. This is made in order to lift some of the work on the ministry and to be able to regulate the flow of immigrant more easily.
The Turquoise card where can you apply ?
As told previously the application for the Turquoise Card will be made at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and will be managed from there. However application can be both made from inside of Turkey as well as from abroad. Both of these application can be managed or made by authorised institutions. The application made from abroad will be made to any Turkish Consulate. the dossier will be sent to the Ministry of labor and then, if the Turquoise Card is granted the Turquoise Card will be delivered to the foreign citizen.
