30th Annual Greenland Women's Club Pie Sale is Virtual this Year with curbside pick up!

The Greenland Women’s Club has announced that the 30th annual Pie Festival will be held this year with changes due to Covid19 and concerns for safety.This popular local event, which normally kicks off the holiday shopping season the weekend before Thanksgiving has needed to be thoughtfully modified for 2020 with the Craft Fair portion of the event having been canceled. However, the Club members have come up with a creative way to still deliver those important Thanksgiving pies!

“For the first time ever, we will be allowing folks to pre-order their pies and pay in advance,” said Carol Sanderson, Club president. “Ordinarily, people line outside the Greenland School on the morning of the Festival to be sure to get their favorite selections and it’s not unusual for customers to leave with 5-10 pies. There is such uncertainty this year about so many aspects of our lives, we had to come up with a different model to keep the spirit of our event alive, and still raise some money for our various community projects.”

People wishing to order pies may do so through the club website, GreenlandWomensClub.org. ,where they will find an order form with the seven types of pies for sale.. Orders will need to be placed and paid for by Friday ,November 13, and will be available for curbside pickup on Sunday, November 22 from 12-3 pm, just in time for Thanksgiving. Everyone needs to be aware that no extra pies will be available after orders close on Nov 13th , so it will be important to plan ahead.

For those missing the Craft Fair component of the Festival, a list of crafters with their contact information from prior years as well as those who would have joined this year will be available on the club website
