Celil and Amanda Kaya, guitar-violin duo

Celil Refik Kaya appears as a soloist and international artist touring around the United States and Europe. Since his concert debut at the age of 6, Dr. Celil Refik Kaya has received high accolades for his myriad accomplishments since an early age. He is the youngest First Prize winner in the 2012 JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition with the Buffalo Philharmonic, one of two three-time prizewinners of the Guitar Foundation of America International Guitar Competition, prizewinner of international guitar competitions including throughout the United States, and highlighted award winner in the Texas International Guitar Competition among others. In May of 2017 he was awarded "Rising Young Musician of the Year" by the Donizettti Music Classical Awards in Istanbul. Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra conductor JoAnn Falletta commends Mr. Kaya as "a superb musician in every sense." American Record Guide has called his performances "just perfect," and numerous critics from around the world applaud Mr. Kaya's playing as being "seemingly effortless."

Amanda Braud Kaya began her music study at the age of five with her mother teaching her piano. She found interest in the violin at the age of eight and viola shortly after. Amanda began her classical guitar studies at her performing arts high school at the age of 11. She continued playing classical guitar as a secondary elective at the University of Oklahoma under the tutelage of Larry Hammett. She later studied with renowned guitarist and performer, Celil Refik Kaya as well as master guitar pedagogue Raffi Arslanyan of Turkey. Amanda is a 2015 viola alumna of Round Top Festival Institute. Mrs. Kaya teaches guitar, violin and viola at Fort Lee School of Music in New Jersey. She is also a string coordinator at New Jersey City University.
