Laura Deviato and Olimpo Ortega in Concert

In a galaxy not far away, a musical odyssey began... Singer-Songwriter Laura Deviato and Percussionist Olimpo Ortega joined musical forces to help restore balance to the universe by spreading light among the people of the planet through music. Their upcoming destination, Hermann's Jazz Club!

This dynamic duo combines Latin percussion with enchanting vocals, creating a fresh sound all their own. Original songs with thought provoking lyrics transcend genres by fusing elements of Folk, Funk, Soul, Latin and Jazz in English, Spanish and Italian. They honed their craft playing alongside accomplished artists on the streets and stages of Latin America, Europe and now Canada! The past few years they have been making their mark on the Vancouver Island music scene, performing at Festivals, playing regularly with distinguished musicians at Hermann's Jazz Club and sharing music with children at heart of all ages through their project Lelolai FAM.

This show will be extra special as it will be a first time collaboration with renowned Jazz pianist Ashley Wey! Also on the lineup, the eminent and versatile bassist Louis Rudner and outstanding drummer Cyril Lojda. Expect to hear a repertoire of Original Songs along with a few Valentine's Jazz Standards for good measure. Together these fine musicians will no doubt offer an uplifting and unforgettable musical experience, inviting you to reflect, connect and celebrate!
