Live music at Leopold Square: Phil Johnson, Emily West and Carioca Soul

Friday 28th July - Phil Johnson - 5pm to 7pm
One of the UK's most in-demand session drummers steps into the limelight to showcase his vocal and keyboard skills. With a band of Sheffield's finest, Phil always entertains with a mix of Jazz standards, gutsy blues, and pop classics.

Saturday 29th July - Emily West - 2pm to 4.30pm
With an effervescent energy and a beautiful soulful voice, Emily has been wowing audiences at Leopold Square for years, and she is a welcome return in 2023. Turning her hand to jazz, soul, and funk classics with a cracking band behind her, Emily never fails to impress.

Sunday 30th July - Carioca Soul - 2pm to 4.30pm
Inspired by the music of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66, Carioca Soul is a project from pianist, musical director and composer Wayne Pollock. Fronted by Kate Peters and Jenny Smith, this seven-piece band perform an eclectic mix of Bossa Nova/Samba and contemporary Brazilian music, mixed with original tunes in a melting pot of Latin/funk and soul.
