The President's New Year's Concert

An hour-long selection of operatic arias and orchestral music to ring in 2017 in style.

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra invite you to ring in the New Year in style with a performance of operatic arias and rousing orchestral music in a very special New Year’s Concert presented by Arts Council Malta and the Office of the President.

Modelled on the famous New Year’s Concerts at Vienna’s Musikverein, The President’s New Year’s Concert offers the opportunity to experience this glamorous Viennese event in Malta. Audiences will be greeted upon arrival with a complimentary drink prior to the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance.

Greek conductor and clarinettist will be directing the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, while Maltese soprano Nicola Said will be guest soloist.

The performance lasts for an hour, so guests can continue their New Year celebrations elsewhere, including by joining the national celebrations in Valletta.

J. Strauss - Fledermaus Overture (Die Fledermaus)
C. Gounod - Je Veux Vivre (Roméo et Juliette)
F. von Suppé - Light Cavalry Overture (Light Cavalry)
L. Bernstein - Glitter and Be Gay (Candide)
V. Herbert - Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life (Naughty Marietta)

Tickets can be obtained from the Mediterranean Conference Centre, or through its website mcc.com.mt.

Proceeds will be going to the Malta Community Chest Fund.
