Big Cat Jubilee at the Alaska Zoo

Join us at the Alaska Zoo on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 from Noon-4pm for our first ever Big Cat Jubilee event! Highlights happening from Noon-4pm include a welcome table, scavenger hunt with prizes, the revival of the popular Sketch-n-Safari program with a cat focus (that's right, you get to draw cats with artists Steve and Leon!), hands-on items, coloring, a 1pm Keeper Chat with enrichment at the lynx habitat, a 2pm Keeper Chat with enrichment at the Amur tiger habitat, a 3pm Keeper Chat with enrichment at the snow leopard habitat, a meet-and-greet with former longtime cat zookeepers Jim and Smitty in the Discovery Center with cat items, a booth run by volunteers from local cat organization Clear Creek Cat Rescue, and a coffee truck at the zoo courtesy of Kape Espresso Tayo, a cat mascot roaming the trails, cotton candy for sale and the petting zoo open from 10am-12pm and again from 1pm-3pm. We are also encouraging guests to BRING A CAT DONATION ITEM from our list online. Zoo cats can use whipped cream, cottage cheese, perfume, cologne, heavy cream, spice and cardboard cat scratchers for enrichment. Clear Creek Cat Rescue would love to receive canned cat food and unscented litter along with any monetary donations you might wish to make to support their amazing work with local cat rescue and adoptions. Donations can be dropped off at the welcome table or directly at the Clear Creek Cat Rescue booth. We hope you will join us!
