Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul "Growing with our Community" Celebrating 25 years

For over 25 years, Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul has been actively working to reduce the barriers to success for children and adults by supporting their essential needs. Now, Assistance League invites community members to attend its celebratory event, "Growing with our Community." This fun and informative fundraiser will be held at the Nicollet Island Pavilion on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

In 1996, Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul began with a single program supporting sexual assault survivors throughout the state with clothing and toiletries. Now, twenty-five years later, Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul operates nine philanthropic programs focused on providing basic needs to children and adults. In addition to the Assault Survivor Kit program, Assistance League has programs that provide food and clothing for students, support childhood literacy, recognize academic achievement, award post-secondary scholarships, and fund grants for classroom enrichment.

Assistance League is an all-volunteer nonprofit whose 190 member volunteers design and manage the programs based on community partner input. Assistance League works directly with social workers, principals, and teachers in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Richfield public schools. Leading with the question, "What do you need?" allows Assistance League members to be responsive to changing community needs and to adapt their efforts and programs accordingly.
