The evening's program:

Antonin Dvorak - Suite in A Major "American" Op. 98b

Edvard Grieg - Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16, with soloist Keenan Reesor

Josef Suk - Scherzo Fantastique Op. 25

This is a concert of music for and from the heart. Dvorak's suite is a love song to the America in which it was composed, but it is richly infused with the folk music of his beloved Bohemian homeland. Grieg's concerto begins with a famous and rousing declaration of passion but moves through heart-melting tenderness to a finale of pure joy. Finally, Joseph Suk encourages us to celebrate love, but not to take any of it too seriously.
