Following the huge success of its collaboration with York Astronomical Society in 2021 the band is excited to team up again this March.

In a unique partnership the band and York Astronomical Society will present an exciting concert Galaxies of Brass on Saturday 25th March at the York St John University Creative Centre starting at 7.30pm. The space themed music programme will be supported by presentations from York Astronomical Society which together will create an experience that is literally "out of this world".

York R I Band was established in 1883 by Noah Bruce and is York's oldest and most successful brass band with a reputation for performing innovative and quality concerts. York Astronomical Society (YAS) was founded in 1972 at about the time of the final Apollo mission to the Moon and has a long history of public meetings (over 1000).

David Lancaster, the band's Musical Director, said "The passion that York Astronomical Society have is infectious which combined with a wonderful programme of space themed music will create a concert that will live long in the memory."
