One Voice, Cantate Children's and Youth Choir's Spring Concert

Cantate Children's and Youth Choir will present their annual spring concert "One Voice" on Sunday, May 15th, at 4:00 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church. There are no tickets; a freewill offering will be taken. Cantate, a community choir in the Lynchburg area, is made up of over 30 singers aged 8 through 18. They sing a wide variety of works, and will begin the program with "Sorida", a Zimbabe greeting. The title for the second piece is "One Voice" by Tom Shelton. Other works include African-American spirituals, a French-Canadian folksong, a Brazilian lullaby, and a Native American chant. Peggy Haas Howell is the conductor, and Elizabeth Wilkinson is the pianist. St John's Church is located at 205 Elmwood Avenue, Lynchburg.
