New to town

Pubblicato in Salisburgo forum

Hi

I'm a British guy moving to Salzburg. I know little about the city so am looking for some contacts and places to hang out, things to know. Mostly though I am looking for any information about finding a job while I am there. I am a qualified teacher and journalist in the UK and looking for anything. I'd appreciate any tips or advice.

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice! Much appreciated. Will definitely check out the scottish country dancing as it's in my blood. Really hope to find a job so I can move to be with my girlfriend. It's such a lovely place.

    Hi,
For (mostly) temporary or part-time jobs check out this website:

Finding a job as a teacher in a school will be difficult, but you should contact the language schools and "Nachhilfe-Institute" (private tutoring for highschool students) to maybe teach a few hours of English. The English Centre in Haunspergstraße might also be an idea. Of course there are 4 Irish pubs in town, and a lot of English native speakers work there. Or maybe the American International School in Moosstraße.
In most other jobs you would of course need a good command of German.
In case you are interested and want to meet people, you can check out our Scottish Country Dance Group on www.turnverein-maxglan.at/scottish.htm
Hope I have been able to help you a bit.
