Taking a trip to Cologne - what should I see?

I'm looking into a little trip to Cologne as some friends told me it's very nice. Any advice as to what I should see?

on the east side of the Rhein, south river bank, you'll find everything you need.

Hi Anne,
"Koelle" as the people of cologne call their hometown has lots of great places to see!

Of course you shoul go to the cathedral, to an original "koelsch"-bar and perhaps make a boat-trip on the rhyne.
