Is Italy a country which is dominated by men and masculine opinions? Is it acceptable for a man to help out with chores around the house and cleaning? Or does the husband sit around all day after work watching tv or drinking beer with his friends while his wife does the cooking, cleaning, chasing after the kids, managing the home, etc?

No its not, its like most developing countries, the older generation send thier husbands out while they are preparing dinner. But the younger generation treat each other as equals.
