    I live in San Diego but have been working internationally for the past 5 years; spent 2 years in Buenos Aires, and 3 years in Rio de Janeiro. Now the company is sending me to Madrid for a couple of years, beginning next year. I would appreciate a recommendation on what places are best to live. I'd like to live close to downtown, at walking distance to bars, restaurants, movie theaters, etc., but with easy access to the freeways and public transportation. Many people spoke highly of Salamanca. I've seen pics of Malasaña and loved it. I'm single. I have a daughter that may come with me but she will most likely be studying in Barcelona. Any suggestions?
