Due to COVID-19, the Gateway Korea Foundation's Annual Chuseok Festival is going virtual this year with a three-day series from September 17th through the 19th. This event series is a great opportunity to experience Korean culture from the comfort of your own home and has activities children and adults alike are sure to enjoy!

Day 1 | Thursday, September 17th, 7 PM CDT Music Performance by the Eine Ensemble

The Eine Ensemble will play popular folk songs from Korea and around the world, ranging from "Arirang" to "Danny Boy." Performers include Kim Young (flutist), Ahn Hyungsoo (guitarist), and Kim Sooji (pianist).

Day 2 | Friday, September 18th, 7 PM CDT Crafts, Games, Folk Song and Folk Tale

To reflect the spirit of Chuseok, which promotes "togetherness of the family," families from the St. Louis metropolitan community will teach about various Korean traditional activities, including crafts, games, folk songs, and folk tales.

To end our Chuseok series, there will be a Korean martial arts demonstration by Y.S. Rho Martial Arts of Chesterfield, K-pop performances by K:ODE and other popular groups, and samulnori (traditional Korean folk music using percussion instruments).
