An exploration of musical time featuring a soundwork by an emerging musician Edzi'u, followed by one of the most monumental chamber music works of the 20th century, composed by Morton Feldman.

In this exploration of musical time, experience a soundwork by emerging Tahltan/Tlinglit composer and musician, Edzi'u, followed by one of the most monumental chamber music works of the 20th century, by renowned composer Morton Feldman.

Performed by Edzi'u

Inspired by her family's tradition of storytelling, Kime Ani explores issues of culture and identity. Working with vintage and current audio recordings, electronic instruments and voice, Edzi'u interprets stories from three generations of her grandmothers and matriarchs.

Performed by Paolo Bortolussi on flute, Manuel Laufer on piano, and Daniel Tones on percussion.

This piece weaves a softly mesmerising sound world that draws the listener into an ever-deepening state of contemplation and meditation. It defies the structure of clock time, whereby five minutes can seem like forever while a whole day can slip by quickly.

Produced in collaboration with Blueridge Chamber Music Festival.
