"Privacy" in Today's World

Is it taboo or not? Should I take the snapshot?

How is Privacy dealt in today's world differently than in the past.
What considerations should we have for different cultures, traditions, religions and individual desires?
What should we be aware of when we travel the world for pleasure or business?
