The Packanack Community Church and their Community Outreach Team will host, as part of their Coffeehouse Speakers Series, an important event: "Christianity and Racism: A Historical Reckoning" on Wednesday, November 10th at 7 p.m. at the church, 120 Lake Drive East in Wayne.
This event will explore how Christianity has contributed to the construction of race and racism, both historically and in contemporary life. Additionally, attendees will become familiar with current movements within the religion that are working to dismantle racism.
The Rev. Dr. Kirk A. Johnson, Secretary, United Church of Christ Central Atlantic Conference's NJ Association/Coordinator of NJA's Social Justice Witness Task Force leading the program along with Packanack Community Church Pastor Juli Bertalan.
This event is open to everyone. We think this presentation might be of interest to some of your members and to this end would ask you will share this notice and the attached flyer.
