Math in the Mountains has drawn 40 top math students and teachers from around the world to convene at Teton Science Schools and launches June 25! As part of the weeklong event, renowned math writer and educator James Tanton will do a free public talk for our community on "Exploding Dots: A Tale of Joyous Mathematics" on Wednesday, June 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mountain Academy.

More than 7.5 million people from 150 countries have heard James share this talk, which shows parents and students how math can be taught in a captivating way and exemplifies how "math anxiety" with kids can be overcome with novel teaching approaches. James earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from Princeton in 1994, is a professor, teacher, and writer who travels worldwide to inspire students and adults to discover the inherent beauty, joy, and human essence of mathematics.

Math in the Mountains' inaugural camp takes place June 25 to June 30 at TSS and was founded by former US Math Olympiad winner and coach of the US International Math Olympiad team, Paul Zeitz, and TSS Board Member and investor Andrew Chung.
