I will travel to Brunei soon and I would like to get to know some locals. Could you give me some tips what I should be aware of? I don't want to be prepared for cultural differences and not cause any problems :-) I already know I shouldn't talk bad about the royal family, and avoid some sensitive topics such as politics and some world events, particularly those relating to Islam or Islamic countries. Do you have any other tips?

It's not really an answer to your question. I didn't really realise of all the restrictions. I am moving to Brunei in september and I was looking forward to it... well less all the restrictions! argh!
