Day at Hanaiakamalama, the Queen Emma Summer Palace Festival

Join us this Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9 AM to 2 PM for the Day at Hanaiakamalama, the Queen Emma Summer Palace festival! Tour the Palace, enjoy the grounds, immerse in a variety of Native Hawaiian arts and crafts with cultural practitioners, enter our Hawaiian quilt drawing, enjoy the Daughters' famous jams and jellies, and support local vendors and artisans, while enjoying musical entertainment and 'ono food.

All proceeds from the Day support the organization's mission of historic preservation with the maintenance and operations of the Palace.

Hānaiakamalama was built in 1848, making it older than the present day 'Iolani Palace which was built in 1882. This signature event brings guests of all ages to wander the grounds and walk in the footsteps of Queen Emma and the royal family at their private estate.

Live Entertainment includes: Walea (Winner of three Na Hōku Hanohano Awards); the Royal Hawaiian Band; Halau Na Wainohia, Kumu Hula Tony Conjugacion; Halau Na Pua Hala Kunou i ke Kai, Kumu Hula Lauren Kanoelani Chang Williams; Halau Hula Ka Lehua Tuahine, Kumu Hula Kailihiwa Vaughan-Darval; Punahou Alumni Glee Club; Harpist Sharene Taba; with Host and Emcee Kainoa Daines.

Enter to win a handmade King-size Hawaiian Quilt from Kenui Quilts; or a yellow Lei Hulu Wili Poepoe donated by Kaimanu Collection; or a 26" silver pheasant feather hatband.

Tickets are available online at daughtersofhawaii.org/hanaiakamalama or at the entrances: $10 General; $5 Youth (5 to 12yrs); $1 Children (4yrs and under). Queen Emma Summer Palace is located at 2913 Pali Hwy, Honolulu, HI. Free festival parking is available adjacent to the Palace at Nuʻuanu Valley Park at 2925 Pali Hwy. The parking lot will open at 8:30 a.m. Parking is limited.
