The GOV plays country-disco-metal with projected lyrics, backing videos, short films, and performance art. XXXmas is not the run-of-the-mill “Jingle Bell Rock” event with milquetoast versions of Christmas songs played millions of times over.
The Christmas songs are original and discuss alternate facets of the holiday season woefully overlooked by other yuletide anthems. On New Year's 2023 The GOV headlined the Idaho Potato Drop for thousands of Boiseans while simulcasting nationally on CNN.
Proceeds from the $15 admission will be donated to an Idaho-based non-profit benefiting the unhoused and those facing eviction.
