What do you like most about the Germans??

Geplaatst in Duitsland forum

I've been to Germany a few times and I have to say that I really started to like German people. I know that there are lots of stereotypes describing Germans as cold an rude, but in my experience they were all very friendly and helpful!
What did you go through with German people? (Negative aspects are welcome as well ;))

Yes, that's true...and compared to Spain, they almost don't honk at all ;)

I also like German cars! When you're in Germany you see such a lot of cool cars on the streets...not like in Mexico, where they let everything drive that has 4 wheels and an engine...

I didn't mean it like that Nadine. I meant to say that the Germans have some of the best cars and castles

.. who has some of the best cars and castles - the German women only? I didn't know that emancipation has gone that far yet ... ;o)

I appreciate the loyalty, punctuality, diligence, and persistence as well as the cultural opportunities in Germany.

I found that most German guys were cold and showed a distinct lack of humor. But after a few beers, it all worked out ok. The women on the other hand were generally more open. I noticed that you one could usually walk up to a total stranger in a bar or a club, make eye contact, smile and then engage her in conversation without any awkwardness. As we all know GOOD conversation is the prelude to a KISS.Of course with me not being the shy type and everyone else being a stranger to me since it was my first time there, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Anyway all jokes aside, I love German women and they have some of the most beautiful countryside and castles ever.
    I also love their cars.

... my experience is that it takes a while to get used to the Germans. But once you know them, the thing what I like most about them is their reliability - and that they always mean what they say!

Interesting to hear what people all over the world think about the German.
I think I can agree with Fernando...it's true that people in countries like Spain or Italy just have another mentality and show their feeling more publicly or are generally more out-going...that's what I experienced at least.

    hey charlotte,

I think it's just the same as in any other country: it depends on which people you meet. There are friendly ones, and less friendly ones. But indeed I have to say that at first the German do seem a little bit cold...maybe it isn't part of their culture to show every little emotion publicly...
