Join the Newcomb Art Museum for a free artist talk on October 2 at 6 pm, as artist, activist, and MacArthur Genius Awardee LaToya Ruby Frazier shares how she uses photography for social change.

Join the Newcomb Art Museum in Freeman Auditorium on Wednesday, October 2 at 6 pm for a unique chance to hear from artist, activist, and MacArthur Genius Awardee LaToya Ruby Frazier as she presents "Art as Transformation: Using Photography for Social Change." Free and open to the public, Frazier will discuss how she uses photography to fight injustice—poverty, healthcare, and gender inequality, environmental contamination, racism, and more—and create a more representative self-portrait. The museum will remain open till 8 pm and host a free reception following the talk, giving everyone the opportunity to interact with the artist and explore her exhibition "Flint is Family," currently on view at the Newcomb Art Museum.
