Down for the Count Swing Orchestra are London’s hottest mini Big Band and vintage dance orchestra, and they return to Hideaway for another exhilarating family-friendly show!

Down for the Count bring the sounds of the Swing Era back to life, with a stunning and energetic show celebrating the best music of the 20th Century.

On Sunday 31st May the band present their brand new show “Ladies of Jazz”, celebrating not only some of the great female musicians of the Swing Era, but also the fantastic female musicians in Down for the Count.

Expect to hear songs from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Etta James in a unique celebration of some of the best music of the jazz and swing eras.

Down for the Count are regularly found at jazz clubs in the UK and abroad (Ronnie Scott’s London, Hideaway Streatham, Le Caveau de la Huchette Paris), at festivals including Twinwood Festival and London Jazz Festival, and on BBC Radio.The band recreate classic tunes from the Swing Era, but this is no mere nostalgia trip - they perform each song in their own unmistakeable style, breathing new life into the best vintage music.

Combine that with the band’s top class instrumental solos, sublime vocal performances, and irresistible humour and joie de vivre, and you get a show that never fails to get toes tapping and audiences dancing... so no need to feel guilty about following your Hideaway Sunday lunch with that cheeky dessert after all!
