The Comedy of Errors
Shakespeare's madcap farce makes the ideal Summer theatre treat as not one but TWO pairs of identical twins suffer multiple mistaken identities whilst an old man races against time to save his life. Servants punished for doing what they've been told to do, and wives and suitors in pursuit of the wrong partner mean a fast-paced evening of high jinks, all in a 1920s setting on the Maddermarket's Shakespearean stage.
The Comedy of Errors is one of William Shakespeare's early plays. It is his shortest and one of his most farcical comedies, with a major part of the humour coming from slapstick and mistaken identity, in addition to puns and word play.
