Good luck. In which state? The authorities in austria are aggressively incompetent. They have no idea what they are doing and are frequently caught in lies but it doesnt matter because they have no consequences. They are quick to try to go after you for any perceived violation of their rules, or their misguided belief of what their rules are. Get anything they say in writing. If they wont put it in writing, it is safe to assume that they are lying. I follow up every phone conversation with an email recapping what they said, so there is a written record. Needless to say, they are not helpful with trying to get your visa. Even when you show up with all papers correct, be prepared for obstacles.
