A little about Elizabeth . . .Elizabeth is a sweet, funny, gentle soul with a heart for animals and a love for music! She had dreams of going away to college to study animals and music, however in 2021, she was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). This disorder causes high heart rates when changing positions and poor circulation. Her symptoms vary from episodes of extreme exhaustion, vestibular migraines, dizziness, unstable balance, and inability to walk/stand/sit for more than 15 minutes without risking exacerbating her symptoms to the point of fainting. Elizabeth’s service dog will provide deep pressure therapy to help regulate her heart rate and blood pressure, help calm her when anxious and will be trained to alert Elizabeth before an episode occurs. The dog will stay by her side and provide an emergency phone in its vest pocket so she can call for help at any time.
