Reptile Discovery Time at the Alaska Zoo

The Alaska Zoo's wonderful volunteers will be opening the Discovery Center from Noon-2pm weekly on Saturdays and Sundays for "Reptile Discovery Time". The Discovery Center is home to a small collection of reptiles and amphibians who participate in zoo education programs. If you stop by between Noon-2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, volunteers will be in the building to oversee fun activities and discuss the animals with visitors. Reptiles will stay in their habitats during these times, but it is still fun to see them and learn all about them! Volunteers will have reptile and amphibian themed coloring, crafts and books out for visitors. The Discovery Center is located inside of the zoo grounds on the trail that goes past the seal and otter habitat toward the playground area (the building is the zoo's old gift shop). Regular rates and membership use apply for entry to the zoo.
