The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra with award winning cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan and renowned conductor Michalis Economou present Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B minor and Elgar's Enigma Variations
The Washington Post has described cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan as “a seasoned phenomenon” and we are delighted to welcome him to Malta to perform Dvorak’s Cello Concerto under the direction of acclaimed conductor Michalis Economou.
The conductor’s own composition “Di-ichon”, which follows, was re-arranged especially for this concert and is inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
The evening will finish with Elgar’s Enigma Variations, a set of musical sketches inspired by the personalities of some of the composer’s closest friends including his wife and even himself.
