English ex-pat wanting to practice Dutch

Postado em Den-Bosch forum

Hi all

I've just moved to Den Bosch from London with my Dutch boyfriend. I'd love to meet up with some English-speaking ex-pats who want to practice their Dutch over a coffee or beer. Any takers?

I'm moving to den bosch in a few months to be with my boyfriend. I am also from London. I was wondering how you have found getting work? I think this is the thing I am most worried about as i have never been out of work and giving up a job to go over there is scary stuff!

I know the city pretty well as I have been visiting at least once a month for the past year. Really lovely place!

    Thanks
    Katie

    Hi Ranj

Well, I've not really been here long enough to make a proper judgment; however my first impressions are very good indeed. The city is beautiful - lots of old buildings, a stunning cathedral and the Binnendieze which is an underground canal system. It is small, especially compared to London (I'd say it's about the size of Camden) but that means you can just walk everywhere, or cycle of course. It has all the amenities you could want in shops, restaurants (although sadly very lacking in the Indian department!), pubs/bars and even a couple of museums and art galleries. The people are really friendly (more so than in North/West) and almost everyone speaks English and is happy to do so. And you can get to Amsterdam in an hour on the train if you want.

So yes, I would recommend Den Bosch as a place to live. I hope to be here for life now!

    Succes!

    Leona
