Our contributors have gone off the beaten track in Britain and will share with you their guide on where and when to go, sharing ideas around how we can all travel and live a little more sustainably.

Our speakers

Mary-Ann Ochota (chair) is a broadcaster and anthropologist, who strongly believe that the outdoors is good for all of us, our bodies and minds. Mary-Ann is a familiar face on archaeology and history shows and has written three popular archaeology books: Britain's Secret Treasures, Hidden Histories: A Spotter's Guide to the British Landscape and Secret Britain: Unearthing Our Mysterious Past.

Tor McIntosh is a freelance writer and photographer specialising in travel, nature and outdoor adventure. She is the author of Slow Adventures: Unhurriedly Exploring Britain's Wild Places and North Devon Coast and Countryside guidebook. Tor lives by the sea in Co. Waterford in Ireland, where she enjoys exploring the nature and landscape along Waterford's Copper Coast on walks, trail runs, bike rides and sea swims.

Jack Thurston is the author of the Lost Lanes series of books that take a free-wheeling tour of the lost lanes and forgotten byways. Travelling at a leisurely pace by bicycle, Jack explores the countryside, taking in enchanted woodlands valleys, wild seashores, shimmering mountain lakes and ancient ways.

Sophie Pavelle is a zoologist, science communicator, environmental advocate, hiker and the Youth Ambassador of The Wildlife Trusts. She's incredibly passionate about the wildlife we have in the UK and through her work she tries to encourage others to appreciate it and therefore want to protect it.

Jo Moseley calls herself "a joy encourager, beach cleaner and midlife adventurer". In the summer of 2019, Jo became the first woman to stand up paddleboard coast to coast, 162 miles from Liverpool to Goole.
