Great Trip To The Best Kept Secrets Of Castile: History, wine & food pairing, and great fun

PROGRAMME:

Departure at 9:00 from Glorieta de Atocha (next to the Ministry of Agriculture) towards the heart of Castilla. After crossing the impressive Central System, that at this time of year still preserves most of its pretty fall dress, we will head for the historic town of Aranda de Duero, where we will take a look inside an amazing underground winery (11th century), which, with more than 7 km of galleries, is cradle of legends and place of crianza wines next to the Duero river. At this peculiar place at the heart of the Castilian land, we will attend a great themed guided wine tasting with 3 exclusive kind of wines and delicatessen pairing. Then, we will have lunch in such an unmatched setting, not without first discovering the best Aranda corners.

With a full stomach and the senses heightened, we will head for Sorian land, Castillejo de Robledo, in particular, a magic medieval town that preserves impressive Templar monuments, with highlight to the Castle and church, where we will tell stories of the Knights Templar, and then, at a nearby spot, episodes of the Poem of the Cid will be recreated. To top it off, we will meet at a beautiful wine press to share an end of fiesta of fellowship before coming back to the capital of the Kingdom.
