Food Drive

Hunger impacts nearly 100,000 of our neighbors in central and southern Illinois. To address the problem, three women's organizations, AAUW, AKA, and Junior League, teamed up to sponsor a food drive on Saturday, December 5 from 8:00 a.m. until noon at Junior League Headquarters in the Prevention First Building, 2800 Montvale Drive. Food donors can take advantage of contactless drop-off that morning. Volunteers will be stationed in the parking lot to unload goods from donors' vehicles. Donations of nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, and personal care items will be accepted. Collected goods will be distributed to Springfield area micro-pantries, Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network (SIAN), and UIS Cares Food Pantry. Monetary gifts will also be accepted at the Food Drive. Checks should be made payable to Central Illinois Food Bank.
