Stand Festival - A Theatre Festival for Immigrant and Refugee Artists
Blackout Arts Society and Presentation House Theatre proudly present the inaugural STAND Festival, a live and livestreamed celebration by and for immigrant and refugee theatre artists. Through a series of free workshops, panel discussions, and vibrant, impactful showcase performances, STAND supports and amplifies the creations and voices of newcomers to Canada through the arts.
Workshop presenters include Chelsea Haberlin (Neworld Theatre); playwright Tetsuro Shigematsu; Jivesh Parasram (Rumble Theatre), Canada Council, BC Arts Council, and the North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission representatives. Online and on-stage performances include Phantom Pain, Made in Canada, Suitcase Stories, Yue Opera, INHUMAN/E.
