Soo Rye Yoo Visual Autobiography

Soo Rye Yoo is presenting a visual autobiography spanning over 40 years and thousands of miles from Seoul, South Korea, to the Seacoast of New England. Soo Rye Yoo came to this country to study at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester. After receiving her BFA, she opened her own gallery in Rye. This event also marks the gallery's 12th anniversary. During this time, Soo Rye Yoo has showcased many local and international artists, as well as her own work.

Soo Rye Yoo is a prolific artist who works in many different styles, from realistic to abstract. She works in many different media, including watercolor, acrylic, oil, and printmaking. She is not constrained to the painted canvas, but also creates 3-dimensional art and sculpture. Regardless of the medium, her work is full of light, color, motion, and energy. Art lovers will be interested to know that during the show, her artwork will be available for a discount.

Soo Rye Yoo also gives art lessons to individuals and small groups of students of all ages.

The retrospective will run through April 25th. There will be no opening reception due to Covid. However, all precautions are being taken to make a safe environment for viewing the artwork. In the spring, if Covid infections are down, she will hold a musical event.
