The third edition of Vélo Birmingham & Midlands is returning in 2020 with a brand new summertime date - Sunday June 21 2020!

Firmly established as the UK’s second-biggest cycling event, Vélo Birmingham & Midlands will take up to 18,000 riders of all abilities on an unforgettable 100 or 45 mile journey on closed roads through the West Midlands on Sunday, June 21, 2020.

The 100-mile route will take riders on a truly unforgettable journey through the West Midlands on fully closed roads. With a new start & finish in the heart of Birmingham City Centre near Centenary Square, the 100-mile route will once again pass through the heart of the Coventry where riders will cycle on the cobbled roads of Pepper Lane in the shadow of St Michael’s Tower at the ruins of Coventry Cathedral. In between these two city centre adventures, riders can expect to encounter stunning countryside, panoramic views, picturesque villages and iconic climbs…not to mention the tens of thousands of local residents lining the streets cheering the riders on!

The 45-mile route will weave its way through the beautiful West Midlands countryside en route to the heart of Coventry - the City of Culture 2021 - where riders will cross the finish line on University Square in the shadow of the historic Coventry Cathedral.

From cycling newbies right through to seasoned sportive riders, our 45-mile route promises a truly unforgettable day in the saddle.
