Protect Your Kids Online: A Practical Approach to E-safety

Come along to a Better Together E-safety Workshop to find out about the practical things you can do, along with the tools and techniques you can put in place, to help protect your child online and to build their digital resilience.

Better Together E-safety Workshops ensure that parents/carers can support the "online lives" of the children/young people that they are responsible for. The aim of the e-safety workshops is to raise awareness of how to deal with e-safety issues using practical tools and techniques.

The objectives of the workshops are to:
- Identify how to set parental controls;
- Identify a range of supervision options;
- Identify age-appropriate rules that can be used;
- Develop age-appropriate e-safety conversations;
- Identify how to report inappropriate online content, contact or behaviour.

The workshop covers children and young people who are in:
- Preschool (3-4 year olds),
- Key Stage 1 (5-7 year olds),
- Key Stage 2 (8-11 year olds), and
- Key Stage 3 (12-15 year olds).

The feedback received, from people who have attended, indicates that they leave the workshop knowing more about how to deal with e-safety issues. They also feel more confidence because they have practical tools and techniques that they can use straight away without needing to be a computer expert.
