I read that Turku becomes the European Capital of Culture in 2011. Is it a big deal for people in Turku? are there going to be some special events which would make it truly worth to visit Turku? In lot of cases the choice of European Capital of Culture served as a catalyst for the cultural development and the transformation of the city. Do you think this will happen in Turku as well?
